Curriculum

Southside Christian School uses a variety of publishers to meet our curricular goals. Our textbooks are just one of the many tools used for a successful curriculum. Our curriculum has been designed over the years by qualified educators to provide biblically integrated courses that meet or exceed state standards.

We believe students need to be excellent readers. We have built an outstanding reading program that begins in our early grades and is carried through the middle and upper school. Writing skills are also paramount in preparing students for the challenges they will face in the future. We focus on developing these skills at each grade level.

Our preschool classrooms use the A Beka curriculum.  Our Kindergarten through 6th grades use the A Beka, Bob Jones, Saxon Math, and the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW).  Our 7th through 12th grades use the A Beka, Bob Jones, IEW, Positive Action for Christ, and the Apologia curriculums. SCS assessment of the national standards of education is well supported by the use of these curriculums.

Spiritually, we prepare students with a thoroughly integrated biblical worldview in each course.
